On Libraries

As you may have guessed of us, given our system name, we are incredibly passionate when it comes to the topic of libraries; All throughout our life, there has been nothing that we have enjoyed quite so much as visiting a library.

As such, I would like to talk a little on supporting one's public library. While, of course, one can borrow physical books from one's local library, one should know that there are many other services offered; Something that we particularly appreciate is Libby, through which - with only your library card's barcode - you can borrow both ebooks and audiobooks free of charge.

Libraries also offer many other events; D&D, classes, social hang-outs, movie nights, and board game nights are only a few examples, and I would encourage everyone to look into what events their own local library may be offering at any given time. At present, many locations are cutting funding to libraries, and they need as much support as they can get. Libraries provide a much-overlooked but invaluable public service for many, many people, and knowledge is a tool that is of the utmost importance.

I would also like to bring attention to the Queer Liberation Library - for those that live in the United States of America, they are an online database of queer literature, operating through Libby; Gaining access, provided you live in the States, is as simple as applying for a digital library card.
